More can be found from Friday Snippet #52.

Did you know that…

  • most dragon myths/legends describe them as giant snakes with two or no legs?
  • dragon bones and teeth were used as remedies in eastern medicine (though later these were discovered to be bones and teeth of other mammals)?
  • the number of toes on a dragon matters – for example in 14th century China the common people were forbidden to  wear motifs of five-toed dragons since they were reserved for imperial nobility?
  • the constellation Draco has been used to describe a whole number of dragon myths and one of its stars, Thuban, used to be the polar star more than 4,000 years ago?

Don’t forget the giveaway I’m running!
