Friday Snippet #58

As I mentioned before, I’m currently participating in Blogging U. Writing 101: A Poem a Day. Here are my five poems for the week.

Now, I don’t claim to be a poet and I didn’t check any poetry guidelines while writing. I hope you’ll go easy on me but don’t be shy to leave a comment!

DAY 1: MAGIC

Magic is
a million minutes
and all the seconds
that one by one
build our life

Magic is
a hundred weeks
and the four more
that day by day
create our way

DAY 2: REFLECTIONS

Brush the side of the moon
fill in the blanks between
the stars and planets

Blow a little mist over
the Milky Way and all
you see in the sky

Break the ice and dissolve
the universe into
the murky waters below

DAY 3: SLEEP

Clammy sheets stuck on my skin
and the weight of the duvet on my chin

All bundled up and ready for a spin
in the world of dreams born within

But above the Moon’s face on a grin
and the wind’s louder than a violin

No rest, no peace, no sleep herein
time to give up — where’s that gin?

DAY 4: SECONDS

Tick and tack
the clockwork goes
and round and round
the pointer shows

Ring and rang
the phonecall crows
and in and out
the breathing flows

One and two
the heartbeat slows
and three and four
a whole new pose

DAY 5: FREEDOM

We crave for things like
freedom,
security
We love it when our lives are
public
and liked
But hate it when those stats get
saved
and stored
Freedom is worth everything
until it’s not anymore
But choices are freedom
so which are yours?
