Camp July is right around the corner and yes, I’m participating. Duh! After a successful Camp April I’m ready for another win but this time I’m splitting my attention between two different projects.
Camp Project
The project I have up on CampNaNoWriMo is a revision project for Broken Magic (aka Awoken Dragon Trilogy book three).
It’s been way too long since I last worked on that project. My plans for releasing it have changed constantly and now it’s only about… three years late?
So yeah, I really need to get back to it.
I’ve fixed its outline and now all I have to do is follow that outline. When I’ve tried that before, I’ve always lost steam and then moved on to other projects.
Now, thanks to my other WIP, I’m back in the writing game. Even when I don’t feel particularly inspired, I still manage to write quite a bit. I’m taking all of that energy with me to Camp and I’m aiming for 15,000 words.
Disclaimer: While I am starting a new document for this revised draft, I’ll probably end up re-using some past scenes but I’ll rewrite everything. No copy-pasting here.
Background Project
In addition my main writing project, I’m also going to be working on another project.
I’m currently in the middle of Draft 3 for the WIP I tackled during Camp April. I’ve revised 15/37 chapters so I still have a lot of changes to make.
My goal is to get to at least 23/37 during July. That’s roughly two chapters revised per week.
Time Management

My summer vacation will be in July so I’ll have more time for writing than usual.
But, because it’s summer and it’s my vacation, I also expect to have less time for writing than usual.
So all in all I’ll probably end up having the exact same amount of time for writing than always.
My most productive hours usually fall somewhere between 8 and 12 in the morning so I’m going to start my days by writing BM and then if/when I feel like I need a break, I’ll move on to revising the other WIP.
Everything else is a mystery!
Are you going to participate in Camp July? What are you writing?
