Good news: I’ve got a new job! Bad news: It’s eating up my (blogging) time. Since I now have a lot less time on my hands, I’m switching up my schedule a bit.
My dog passed away last week. I knew it was coming so I thought I was prepared, but it turns out you can’t really prepare for losing a friend — a family member of almost 13 years.
“Rules are meant to be broken” is a phrase that fits New Year’s Resolutions well. We’ve all made resolutions that didn’t happen. We’ve probably done it more than once. I plan to fulfill my newest resolutions but we’ll see how it goes in a year!
We’re only a few days away from the end of 2016 and all the shiny New Year’s Resolutions so now’s a good time to review the past year. I’ve truly enjoyed this year of blogging, but I’m interested in seeing what you thought about it.
Today is winter solstice which means today has the shortest amount of daylight and the longest night of the year (here in the Northern Hemisphere, that is). Days will still be quite dark for a while, but that’s just a good excuse to light some candles and quiet down in preparation for Christmas.
Finland celebrated its Independence Day and 99th birthday on December 6th. “Celebrate” might be too big of a word considering how serious and somber it is, but that’s just how we roll. This year was about the strengths of Finland and my favorite was definitely our nature.
